To all the fans of VdGG, they’re back! I know I’m late but work/family comes first so I get to the fun stuff later. The new album, Trisector, is actually a very decent one even without Mister Jackson’s saxophone. Banton took the room available and does a great job. If you’re a VdGG fan, go get it.

I just landed on this event’s page and it screams to me roadtrip. Not the type portrayed by Hollywood but a bunch of prog-loving guys in their 30’s catching an amazing line-up. Pondering…. Peter Hammill, Fish, Liquid Tension Experiement in the same event the same day… Resisting.. Temptation..

Woohoo! That news made my day and it’s only 8:12AM! Van Der Graaf Generator will be releasing in the UK March 17th & online, then April 1st in the USA their new album “Trisector”, here is a quick extract from the web site:
“There are nine pieces on the album, one of them instrumental. Unusually for VdGG, only one of these is more than ten minutes long – indeed, five come in at under five minutes. There are, of course, passages of great complexity but there’s also a confidence about the group at the moment which allows them to leave some simple things as they are. These are songs which dictate their own terms, often with a healthy dose of gallows humour, always with a measure of invention. It’s far from an over-manicured record. For the most part it is the sound of the three musicians both stretching and enjoying themselves in locked-on sympathetic playing. As ever, it doesn’t sound like anyone else – even past versions of VdGG.”
“But as ever, there isn’t another group quite like Van der Graaf Generator.”
Here is the cover of the album, and do note that David Jackson is not part of this project. Still is worth a listed!
For those who enjoy them this clip is a treat, a full live concert from the previous album’s tour.

This is pure ’70’s vintage space/symphonic prog that just begs to be listened to since it’s just so good. Eloy’s masterpiece (Ocean) is one of those albums that rank up there with Selling England by the Pound (Genesis), Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) and Godbluff (Van der Graaf Generator). Should you be into this genre, just go ahead and give this rare clip a whirl, you won’t be disapointed. This is Decay of the Logos, tack #3 of 4 on Ocean.
