If you have not seen this yet, I encourage you to learn more. Kiva is a “microlending” establishment which helps people start their businesses in places of the world where getting loans is very hard when you do not have much to begin with.
The average loan is 25$, not a fortune, and will significantly help out people get their lives off the ground. I think a vast majority of westerners can afford to lend 25$ (or more!) to those who can’t get a bank loan (especially in these times where credit is challenged to say the least!). Try it – make a difference!
