Wii Fit is amazing! May 27, 2008

I got my unit last week (pre-ordered!) and I’ve really tried it last night for more than 5 minutes.  Wii Fit is really cool in the sense that its a video game but you actually do something beneficial for your body.

The kit will calculate a person’s BMI and I’m not thrilled at the first result I got but re-did it and now its more in line with my “curves”.  There are a lot of activities in there and I’ve even tried yoga.  Me yoga?  Yep, it happened in the privacy of my basement where no one can look.  I’m more of an old-school type.

Most of the games are fun and the whole family is using it – if you need to move and have some fun, try it!

Firefox 3 RC1 initial thoughts May 18, 2008

I installed on my home laptop (XP SP2) the RC1 for Firefox 3 out of cusriosity, to see what it brings to the table.  From the GUI point of vue, nothing new there really, still feels like good old trust FF.  Performance seems to be significantly improved on this unit, where I have GMail, iGoogle and Last.FM (playing music) and version 2.x seems to just eat up a lot of memory and slow the whole laptop down.  With 3RC1, that seems to be gone, it’s very responsive and quick after 24hs with the same browser tabs open.  Might be the Gecko engine 1.9 at work.

Anybody else found “real world” improvements?

I’ve been listening to this online radio station for the last week or so and it’s the best one I’ve found in a long time. They play progressive rock from all eras from most bands, and a bunch you’ve never heard of too which are great to discover. Point your Winamp/WindowsMediaPlayer/iTunes to www.morow.com and enjoy!

Iron Man Movie: worth the ticket! May 11, 2008

We saw Iron Man last night, after checking reviews in the papers and at Rotten Tomatoes, we were looking forward to it.  Usually the media is not that much in love with super hero flicks.

To be frank, this movie deserves to be seen.  It’s smart, witty, funny and the visuals are amazing.  Even the storyline works out!  (Sometime SH movies have weak plots..)

In my assessment of the genre by a compete non-qualified movie goer (read: I just watch these things, am not a critic!), this must be the bes SH movie since Batman Begins.  BTW spot Stan Lee in the movie, nice cameo! :)
